Fonna glacier ski resort is located 19km from Jondal centre in easterly direction
Fonna is one of Europe’s premier summer ski centres located at 1200m above sea level on Folgefonna in Hardanger.
There is a range of activities in and near Folgefonna National Park such as ski slopes for the whole family, varied freestyle ski parks and cross-country trails.
From the top of the ski lift (1470m) there is a spectacular view of the glacier, the Hardanger Fjord and North Sea.
The summer season at Fonna lasts from April to October 29.04 – 27.08

The Folgefonna National Park with The Buer Glacier
The Buer glacier is a part of the Folgefonna glacier. There is a marked trail up to the glacier. The hike through Buardalen valley requires physical fitness. FlatEarth Adventures offers guided glacier trips on the Buer glacier.
Buerbreen is an arm of Folgefonna, Norway’s third largest glacier. Follow RV13 towards Røldal from Odda centre 2 km, follow signs towards Arches and drive to the car park at the farms. It takes 2 hours to go up to the glacier. The last part of the walk is steeper terrain, thus the importance of good footwear.
